For children 33 months to 5 years
At Fraser School®, your preschool child will be lovingly guided as they work on further developing their socialization skills, negotiating with others, sharing toys, taking turns, and solving problems. Our teachers help them work on toileting, self-dressing, and taking care of their belongings, as well as transitioning as a group and staying safe during transitions.
We strive to maintain a child-to-staff ratio of 6:1 or 7:1 for preschool classrooms.
Your child will develop their independence and continue building early academic foundations with nutrition, science, and social studies, along with music, movement, and exploration. Each preschool classroom also has a writing center and woodworking activity area.
In preschool, your child will experience longer, large-group times and more direct instruction through individual and small-group table activities and learning centers. They will also work on the fundamentals of math and literacy, through activities that may seem like play, such as rote counting, singing the alphabet song, and building with blocks. Pretend play also builds literacy and one-to-one correspondence skills.
Fraser School®’s preschool program is accredited through the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) and is Four Star Parent Aware rated. Our teachers use The Creative Curriculum® — the gold standard for infant, toddler, and preschool curriculum. Children are assessed twice a year with Teaching Strategies Gold to monitor social/emotional, cognitive, physical and language development. We utilize Incredible Years for social and emotional curriculum.
